The BTRi member delegation continued their second day of executive visit in Shanghai (Sep 25). The delegation first met with the Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. (SMEDI), where both parties held meetings and conducted technical exchanges.

Subsequently, the delegation toured the Wind Tunnel Laboratory at Tongji University to explore China's unique low-speed aeroacoustics and thermal-environment wind tunnel facilities. The delegation also conducted a field inspection of the Shanghai Grand Opera House project, examining the practical application outcome of innovative materials such as Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC).

The delegation later met with the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-rural Development for in-depth discussions on urban construction and management topics.

The day concluded with the delegation splitting into groups of field visits: One group visited the Shanghai Xujing Town Panlong Water Area Water Ecological Restoration Project to explore its new quality productive model that integrates "ecological governance and digital operations". The other group observed the application of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) construction and Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) technologies at the Caobao Road site, gaining further insight into the application of innovative technologies in Shanghai's infrastructure projects.
