Project visit: Songshan Lake Exhibition and Performance Centre

Inspect the façade featuring precast ultra‑high‑performance concrete (UHPC) cladding combined with aluminum panels, forming the flowing "water sleeves" of Cantonese Opera costume. The reusable mould system enables complex double-curved geometry with repeatable precision, shortening construction time while reducing material waste and embodied carbon. The 1,200-seat Grand Theatre's 100,000 acoustic spines further demonstrate how geometry, materials, and acoustics can be integrated as a unified design – a reference case for Hong Kong's off-site fabrication and low-carbon delivery.

Site visit: Air Dome in Dense Urban Core

At the renewal project at Shenzhen's Chegongmiao Station, the entire excavation is enclosed within a fully sealed, air-supported membrane dome – 40 metres high and covering 12,780 sqm. The enclosure contains noise and dust at source, supports all-weather working through internal ventilation and cooling, and incorporates vibration control measures to protect the adjacent Metro Lines – a highly relevant model for Hong Kong's constrained urban sites.

Technical Exchange & Site Visit: Rotary Bored Piling

This technical exchange will focus on the new generation of rotary bored piling technology, exploring how the combined construction method of diaphragm walls and rotary drilling can reduce the construction time per pile to one week. Using engineering case studies, the session will analyse equipment coordination logic and efficiency advantages, highlighting construction efficiency enhancement strategies and key quality control points. Subsequently, the delegation will visit the Shenzhen Xili Railway Station project site for an on-site inspection of the rotary bored trial pile works.

Cross‑boundary coach transport will be provided; lunch is included.

The group will gather and dismiss in Hong Kong.
